    I recently had the opportunity to meet with the inventor of this product while in Florida. As a Scientist, I can appreciate the ingenuity involved in creating a novel process for permanently bonding a thin layer of silicone to the outside of a glass baby bottle. This is actually the same grade silicone used to make the nipple. When you hold this bottle in your hands, you will immediately feel and see the difference. The appearance of the silicone is transparent, with a smooth, soft touch that offers an improved ability to grip. After throwing this bottle approximately ten feet into the air, it literally bounced off the asphalt in the parking lot upon impact without any damage whatsoever. After being thrown into the air again, the bottle still appeared in the exact same shape as before, only the glass appeared cracked within. The results of the test stunned me. As a mother of a three year old, I know how invaluable a product like this is. These silicone coated glass baby bottles are the safest on the market. On the contrary, clear polycarbonate plastic baby bottles have been shown to leach Bisphenol A, a developmental, neural, and reproductive toxicant, into the liquids within. Glass bottles prove no such risk. Although my daughter has outgrown baby bottles at this point, I will invariably use the Drop Guard bottles exclusively with her siblings to come.
