This helps reduce fossil fuel use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improving the overall health and happiness of the planet. All Green Toys products are 100% made in the USA. To be more specific, they are produced in California, a state known for strict toy safety and environmental laws. It's cool to buy USA, but also think about this: transportation is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gasses. We all know driving less is good for mother nature, but did you ever think about how many miles a toy logs before it ends up in your local store? We use recycled milk containers as the main ingredient in creating our toys. Yes, the exact plastic milk jugs that you and your family drink from every day. When you finish your milk and toss the container in the recycling bin, these milk containers are collected at your curb by a local recycling company, who then sorts them from all the other types of plastic. Next, the milk containers are reprocessed into super clean fresh plastic. For you plastic geeks, the plastic material we use is called high-density polyethylene (or HDPE). This material is considered one of the safest, cleanest plastics around.

Our toys are truly local creations. Every step in the process, from milk container recycling to toy production to final assembly, occurs in California.     It is tough to tell from the picture but it is a very durable thick plastic. The rope handle is very sturdy and it should last a long time. I wish it had more pieces to play in the sand but the rake and shovel are the most important ones. My 15 month old son enjoys it very much. Momma loves it too since it is a green toy.

    These sand toys far exceeded my expectations. They are durable. Definitely nothing like the sand toys I'm used to seeing. They are sturdy. The handle on the bucket has a thick rope. The sand castle mold and 2 utensils fit inside the bucket for easy carrying. I love, love, love that they are made from recycled milk jugs and that they contain no lead, no phthlates, and no BPA. I plan on giving this as a gift to several people. Oh, and the colors don't quite look like the picture. The toys are definitely brighter in person. The colors shown with the girl playing in the sand are pretty accurate. Sure, you don't get a ton of sand toys, but the health benefits and durability of this set allow me to look past the price.

    Eco-friendly sandbox set? What could be better? It's colorful, durable and kind to the earth! I know they have to say "due to small parts, not suitable for children under 3" for legal purposes, but there are no small parts to swallow. My kid has been playing with it since she was a year old and she will continue to do so for a long time.
